Looking back for looking forward

"Looking back at 500 years of Reformation history and exploring together how we want to shape our lives in the future: the Protestant Church in Germany has chosen these two main perspectives for its jubilee year in 2017. A raft of events will create an international forum for also fostering an exchange on the values of our society. As a partner of the Reformation anniversary, the Volkswagen Group expressly welcomes and supports this discussion. At the same time, we wish to proactively engage in the dialog on the role of business and companies in the community.

500 years ago, the Reformation was both a forum and a catalyst for a profound historical transformation. Today, too, we are experiencing radical technological and social change that calls much into question and is also unsettling for many. One thing, though, is certain: in times like these it is always best to talk to each other rather than about one another. Speaking for the Volkswagen Group, allow me to express how much we are looking forward to the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. We hope this is a good and insightful year for everyone participating in this jubilee."
